These are some thoughts in progress where I'm still building my opinions in real-time while I'm still figuring out my worldview and values.

1. Should AI be aligned to animals as well the same way it should align itself to human values?

Initial thoughts: If the world is moving towards automating human-related labor then we should explore scenarios and possible policies on AI-animal interactions (e.g. what if AI is not aligned to animals leading to optimizing processes that accelerate or worsen livestock conditions?).

2. Is the Philippines going to be AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) ready?

Initial thoughts: Regulatory lags and lack of public policy to build infrastructure to support and safeguard AI deployment may already suggest that the Philippines is not ready.

3. Should the Philippines work on the intersection of animal welfare and AI?

Initial thoughts: Given that the Philippines is largely an agricultural country, it might be worth looking into what the current animal welfare policies are and create an analysis based on what are the standards we could establish. Small-scale farmers may have difficulty adopting AI-powered observation and monitoring tools thus it's best to explore existing technologies that are affordable and accessible.
